"Where did the name Hypnotechs come from?"

That appeared via the "Submit a Question" link for the FAQ, but I thought I might answer it here instead. This is a little more free-form and Hypnobot will pick it up anyway.

When I started Hypnotechs years ago, I wanted a name that made it obvious what kind of hypnotherapist I am. There are a lot of names like "Mystical Hypnosis" and "John Smith Hypnosis", as well as "Abundant Happiness and Life Affirming Hypnosis", as well as the geographical names like "Hill Valley Hypnosis" out there, but none of them seemed to fit.

"Hypnotechs" captures it. "Hypno", well that part is obvious. But "techs" is very specific. I take a technical approach to hypnosis. No "woo-woo" stuff, but instead techniques and modalities tha have been peer reviewed and published in journals. I come from a tech background, and I am a skeptic, so it's a natural fit.

Hypno for hypnosis and techs for the technical approach. With any luck, it makes it obvious what to expect, even before you read more on Hypnotechs.com.
